While I was in school, I was mostly exposed to paper charting and mimicking of computer charting. After passing my boards, I started working in the operating room at my first facility. At the time they had two different programs that they used for charting. One for the hospital and one for the OR. They would also use a simple form that they would use to chart times and staff. It was a very basic computer program but efficient. I grew up using computers so, when they switched to a new program called EPIC, it was a very easy transition for me.
