There are many advantages to using personal devices such as cellphones for professional communication such as it provides the user more efficient communication and increases productivity. Allowing confidential information to be accessed from a personal cellphone using a protected APP can allow faster time sensitive decisions to be made regarding things such as patient care decisions and needs. Communication between healthcare providers will improve with the ease of instant text messages or emails and the increased productivity of having the information readily available. Email allows a documented record of communications that can be saved and sent out to other healthcare providers; information can also be received in a timely manner with an electronic device.
